29 People Dead And 54,000 Left Homeless With Kerala Rains:- Kerala has been left in tough situations for the second time this year due to the heavy rains that have been trashing the state. 29 people died in the state due to landslides and floods in Kerala after heavy rains knocked the state. Over 54,000 people turned homeless because of the heavy rains all over. Five columns of army were deployed for the rescue operations in the 14 northern districts of Kerala.

Lot of people have been evacuated from their homes which have been drowned. 40 rivers in the state are in spate informed a government official. 25 died of landslides and four in drowning. 439 relief camps have been set across the state and the rescue operations are on. Tourists have been restricted from entering Idukki district which witnessed a series of landslides in the recent days. Army soldiers have been building bridges to evacuate people in Kozhikode and Wayanad. Water from Idukki reservoir has been released and a red alert has been issued. The water levels have crossed the maximum storage capacity. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reviewed the flood situation and the relief activities.
