Karunanidhi's Last Rites in Marina Beach: The family members of late Karunanidhi challenged the decision of Tamil Nadu Government in Madras High Court which said that they would reveal their decision at 8 AM today. The High Court today dismissed the petition filed by Traffic Ramaswamy, PMK’s K. Balu & DK’s Doraisamy last year. The court today resumed the hearing at 8 AM and asked to bury the mortal remains of M Karunanidhi beside Anna Memorial at the Marina Beach. Veera Kathiravan and R. Viduthalai from DMK have been present for the hearing.

The Tamil Nadu Government filed a counter affidavit in this matter and the Madras High Court directed Traffic Ramaswamy’s counsel to file a memo about their non-objection to bury the mortal remains of Karunanidhi at the Marina Beach. DMK activists have been left delighted with the decision of the Madras High Court. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Government allotted 2 acres of land at Gandhi Mandapam. His mortal remains will be laid to rest this evening and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ramnath Kovind, AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi and other crucial leaders will be present for the final rites of Kalaignar.
