33 Killed After A Bus Skids On Mumbai - Goa Highway:- In a tragic road mishap, 33 got killed after a bus skidded off the mountain road in Ambenali ghat, Raigad district this evening. The incident took place on Mumbai - Goa highway. The bus fell 500 feet down and 33 lost their lives. One person survived in the cash and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is conducting the rescue operation. Commandant Anupam Srivastava confirmed the tragedy.

All the victims are the staff members of Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth Agriculture University (Dapoli) who went for a picnic to Mahabaleshwar. The lone survivor climbed up the mountain and alerted the cops. National Disaster Response Force rushed to the spot soon after they received the information. There has been heavy rainfall over the past few days across the Western Ghats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his condolences on the incident. Maharashtra government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.
