Maoist Couple Surrenders Before ASP In Telangana:-  Maoist couple Kore Ashok alias Suryam (29) and his wife Kunjam Bhadramma alias Vijaya alias Padma (22) have surrendered before ASP Eturnagaram in Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalpally Warangal district on Saturday.

The couple is a division member of the Khammam, Karimnagar and Warangal (KKW) Maoist party. Presenting the  Maoist couple before media at his office in Eturunagaram, ASP Rahul Hegde BK said that Ashok while he was studying B.Sc. (BZC) in Narsampet, got attracted to the Left-wing ideology. He is a resident of Ponugodu village in Gudur mandal of Mahabubabad district. Before going underground to work for the Maoists’ Yellandu-Narsampet area committee, he also worked for Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU) and Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV).

In 2014, he was arrested by the Charla police and was sent to judicial custody for eight months. After release from the jail, he joined the party again. Ashok also worked with Haribushan, who is Telangana State Committee Secretary of Maoist party.   

Later he was promoted as the area committee member (ACM) of Yellandu-Narsampet area committee. He participated in the offences including attack on Minapa camp, burning of autorickshaws (TATA Magic) on the outskirts of Duddeda village of Chathisgadh, burning the vehicles of road contractor at Thallagudem, attack on CRPF force at Burkapad and placing the land mine at Palem project road.

Coming to Bhadramma, she was attracted to the Maoist party and joined the party in 2012. A native of Kaligundam village, Chinthur mandal of East Godavari district, she had worked as a member in Charla local organization squad (LOS). She was transferred to SZC Protection Team (Special Zonal Committee) after three months, and worked for two years there. In 2015, she was then transferred to Manuguru area committee.  Before quitting the Maoist party, She was as the working as Deputy Commander of Manuguru Area Committee having the ACM status.

“She too participated in the offences in which her husband participated,” the ASP said. The couple had been disillusioned with the ideology of the Maoists and decided to lead a normal life in the mainstream of the society, added the ASP.
