Sanjay Kothari Appointed As Secretary To Kovind:- The Chairman of Public Enterprises Selection Board, Mr. Sanjay Kothari has been appointed as the Secretary to the newly elected President Ram Nath Kovind.
An order issued today by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said, Senior journalist Ashok Malik has been named as Press Secretary to Kovind. Senior Gujarat-cadre forest service officer Bharat Lal will hold the position of Joint Secretary to Kovind.
Headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, has cleared these appointments are for an initial period of two years, it said.
A 1978-batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre, Kothari as DoPT secretary, retired in June last year as DoPT secretary. In November 2016, he was appointed as the chief of the government’s head-hunter the PESB.
Malik is at present Distinguished Fellow, Observer Research Foundation–a policy think tank.
A 1988-batch officer of Indian Forest Service, Bharat Lal is currently Resident Commissioner of Gujarat government in Delhi.
