Telangana Man Digs Up National Highway To Find Shiv Ling

Telangana Man Digs Up National Highway To Find Shiv Ling:- Out of all the countries, India has witnessed what blind faith can do. Be it for movie stars, politicians or a certain animal, in the name of which, Indian citizens kill fellow Indian citizens.

But, the blind faith increases when it comes to religion and religious beliefs.

The latest example for devout belief in religion we have is the Telangana man who dug up a national highway hoping to find Shiva Ling.

The incident occurred near Pembarthy village in Jangaon district of Telangana. A self-proclaimed purported devotee identified as Lakhan Manoj informed the villagers that Lord Shiva appeared in his dream and told him to dig a particular spot where he would find a lingam. He further asked him to build a gigantic Shiva temple for him at a certain location, claimed the devotee.

The local sarpanch of the village, Jangaon Balne Siddu Lingam and Municipal Vice-Chairman Nagarapu Venkat believed Manoj’s claims to make the matters worse.

The Sarpanch told a leading news paper saying, “Manoj is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and has been getting this dream since three years. He asked us to help him dig up the spot and construct the temple. He used to conduct prayers at this location every Monday. As Manoj swooned in excitement at this spot we believed him.”

A video of the incident that occurred, shows Manoj shaking vigorously and rolling on a patch of the road frantically, thereby “suggesting” that the Shiva linga was underneath.

Following this, the locals hired an earth mover and began digging the Hyderabad-Warangal National Highway, with several people gathering at the spot. As the digging continued, Manoj continued shaking vigorously from time to time, yelling “Om Namah Shivaya”, to convince villagers to dig further.

They had dug deep enough by that time and realized that there was no linga. The traffic on the national highway was jammed, and police had arrived on the spot. After immediately stopping the work, Manoj was detained by the the Jangaon police, along with the Sarpanch and some other locals.

Manoj continued to claim that the Shiva linga was still there, after the arrest.

What is most ironic about the incident is that it came on the same day when ISRO made history again by launching the GSLV Mk-III, its heaviest rocket to date.
