Union Labor Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, has been felicitated by the Senior Enforcement Officers of the 1999 batch of Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

The award was presented to him, for undertaking the restructuring of the EPFO, which resulted in promotions for many officers.

Thousands of officials, working in the various cadres in the EPFO received promotions, which were pending for the past 18 years, said Dattatreya while thanking the officials for the felicitation.

Dattatreya further added that, “The credit for restructuring should go to all the employees of EPFO and the Central Board of Trustees. I did my duty as a minister.” The EPFO includes over 4.30 crore subscribers with Rs 10 lakh crore corpus. About Rs 42,000 crore now laying in the “inoperative accounts” across the country, have been identified by the officials, said the Minister.

EPFO minimum pension may be Rs 1,000 per month
