BJP Youth Wing Leader Offers Rs 11 Lakh For Beheading Mamta Banerjee

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing leader of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Yogesh Varshney, is in the controversy, for announcing a bounty of Rs 11 lakh, for beheading, West Bengal State Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.

The threat came after a day, after police lathi charged people, for taking out a procession in the State’s Birbhum district on the eve of Hanuman Jayanti.

Varshney, while criticizing the police action on the rally, said, “Those who will cut and bring West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee head, I will give that person Rs 11 lakh, and referred her as a demon.”

“Mamata Banerjee never allows Saraswati Puja, fairs during Ram Navami and during Hanuman Jayanti procession, people were lathi charged and brutally beaten up. She organizes Iftar party and always supports Muslims,” said Varshney.

Varshney accused Mamata of targeting Hindus, and said slogans of “Jai Sri Ram’ were raised in the rally, by devotees, who had nothing do with any political party.

The Suri police in Birbhum district, had refused to give permission for the rally, and allegedly used batons, when the procession was about to enter a street, locally called the Madrasa Road. The police had set up an iron barrier, while those in procession tried to break, raising slogans and carrying saffron flags. The organizers, however, assured the police, that they will not carry any arms during the procession. To disperse the crowd, the police resorted to lathi charge.

Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has renounced the comment in parliament, saying: “I condemn this type of statement. The state government can take proper action.”
