Gamblers Arrested in Hyderabad, Rs. 7 Lakh Demonetized Notes Seized

Betting is the crime in which money is important. In a new investigation, Hyderabad Police found that gamblers in the city are still using demonetized currency for betting.

In a new raid, the Rachakonda special operations team arrested a betting gang in Saroornagar. Police seized three new Rs 2,000 notes with them. But the rest of the cash was in demonetize currency.

In two raids were held at Asif Nagar, Narayanpur and Saroornagar. Police also seized around Rs 4 lakh from gamblers. They were using demonetized currency.

“These people are still circulating demonetized currency among themselves. Most of the gamblers are vendors and small traders. They use this currency to run their business also. Since there is still time to get it changed they are confident that they can get it exchanged via banks,” said SOT inspector K. Narsing Rao.

The task force team raided also raided another house in Asif Nagar and caught a group of gamblers, while the SOT Rachakonda raided two places and arrested 15 people. The cops seized around Rs 3 lakh from them.
