When the Surat based wealthy builder Tushar Ghelani was among the first 20 personalities who owned Rs 1 Crore Land Cruiser five years ago, he couldn’t have expected that one day the SUV will be turned into a donkey cart.

The owner of Nanavati Toyota persuades Tushar to buy the ultra-expensive car. He even offered the builder various special services. However, the promises went futile and things changed worse thereafter.

The key lock of the car stopped working just a few days after purchasing the car. The car dealer charged Rs 1500 for the battery of the key lock, which actually costs Rs 50 in the market. He took five days to for the replacement.

That’s not it. Car requires a change in liner after every five thousand kilometers. When Tushar asked the dealer to get a liner of his car, he took his sweet time. Irritated with the irresponsible customer care service, he chose a creative way of protest. He got his car pulled by donkeys.

Tushar said he pays Rs 8 lakh per year as insurance. But due to dealer’s apathy, his expensive car is no better than a donkey cart. He said he regrets buying this car.

“If I had bought a Nano, it would have been better. At least, I would have got its part easily,” he said.

The dealer is not ready to talk on the issue. He says the company has restricted him from talking.

Toyota shot an ad featuring a Donkey in 2012. To their surprise, the advertisement had won many international awards. But the same company’s car is now being pulled by Donkeys in the very presence of media ruins the reputation of the company.

Shiv Sena’s Raj Thackeray, Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya, Indian Cricketer Navjot Singh Siddhu, and Politician Jyotiraditya Scendia were also among the top 20 who owned the car.
