Aam Aadmi Party will now host a Tea time event to raise funds for campaign expenses ahead of the fresh elections in Delhi. This event is called "Tea with Kejriwal" and the attendees will be charged Rs 20,000 for a small cup of tea with the former Delhi chief minister. Former Law Minister Somnath Bharti will host this high-tea event on Saturday.
AAP is often criticised for such kind of high profile events. Earlier, the party has hosted lunch and dinner events which are quite expensive than a five star hotel. Despite all the criticism, AAP went ahead with their fund rising campaigns.
Meanwhile the party has listed out a new list of candidates for the upcoming polls. AAP Covernor Arvind Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi constituency and this has surprised many. BJP and Congress party are attacking AAP that Kejriwal could look for a change of constituency but that did not happen. Kejriwal contested from the same constituency in 2013 elections in which he defeated three time Delhi Chief minister Sheila Diskhit by a margin of 20,000 votes.
On the other hand, AAP is offering tickets to BJP leaders who are joining. Deputy Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly Fateh Singh from Gokulpur, Naresh Balyan, a Ward Councillor with the BJP, joined the Aam Aadmi Party and they were offered tickets.
