Ever since Venkatesh-Pawan Kalyan's new film "Gopala Gopala"- the remake of Hindi flick "Oh My God" - was announced, speculations about the Power Star's most-awaited film "Gabbar Singh 2" have started to emerge. Rumours are making rounds that "Gabbar Singh 2", sequel to the 2012-blockbuster "Gabbar Singh", has been shelved. This Pawan Kalyan starrer was expected to hit floors in January 2014, but was postponed. The delay in the film's shoot and the announcement of Pawan's presence in "Oh My God" remake has apparently led to speculations that "Gabbar Singh 2" is shelved. Now all these rumours made clear and the much awaited project has been called off.

Gabbar Singh 2, supposed to be directed by Sampath Nandi, has been shelved due to non availability of suitable script to Pawan. Post 'Racha', Sampath didn't sign any film and was concentrating only on the script work. Power Star has waited for long period, but Sampath has disappointed him every time with ordinary scripts. Now it was rumored that Gabbar Singh 2 producer met director Harish Shankar and asked him to come up with a story that is suitable to Pawan Kalyan. However, we are yet to know whether the proposed project would be sequel to Gabbar Singh or to be made with a new subject.
