Beauty parlors and massage centers are becoming centers for sex rackets at Visakhapatnam. The activities the boards outside show are entirely different from what is going on inside. New Look Massage Center at Ushodaya Center Visakhapatnam is one of those centers engaged in the unlawful trafficking Task Force unearthed.  And many such centers were raided at Visakapatnam as task force reveals. There are separate massage points for men and women as the advertisements promise.  But in reality they are joint messages. The youth are allured with massages for a charge of Rs.2000 to 6000 depending on the person performs it! If the girl is beautiful and educated and talkative talking in English and Hindi the rate will be higher! The locals of the areas expressed their astonishment for the secret activities going on in their locality.  They were thinking that the girls were going to the beauty centers for enhancing their beauty but surprised to know that they were going to increase their income source. The girls migrating to the city for better opportunities, house wives looking for an extra buck are lured to enter the sex trade by the management of the massage centers at Visakhapatnam. The news broke about beauty parlors is making the women and their family members afraid of going to the parlors. Even a woman unknowingly goes to a parlor may get caught along with others and we all know how the police behave in those circumstances. The cries and protests of the innocents will also be unheard by the police in that situation. They all will be treated at par. They all spend in the jail and pay penalties equally. This is what is making the women scared of beauty parlors in Visakhapatnam. -SriJa

Donkey's Milk believed to have medicinal value is sold at a rate of Rs.2000/- per liter where as buffalo's milk is available for Rs.40 to 50 per liter.  20 families with milking donkeys hailing from Mancherial in Adilabad district have gone to Visakhapatnam district to sell donkey’s milk. A donkey milk vendor at Shivajipalem in Visakhapatnam is selling at Rs.200 per cup (25 ml) and people who believe that it works as a therapy for the respiratory problems are buying it. Some believe that donkey’s milk is good for the new born babies as their respiratory system needs to be strengthened. Infants usually get respiratory, liver related health problems. Many believe that donkey’s milk cures and also prevents those health disorders.  Doctors also confirm that the donkey’s milk is relatively poor in protein but rich in lactose. It is also believed that the donkey’s milk makes skin smooth and glowing.  That way, it will not be a surprise if the milk finds its way to the people of beauty conscious genre too. -SriJa

Minimum Temparature in Vizag District December 14, 2013 13:09

Visakhapatnam district recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state. Lambasingi and Chintapalli in Visakhapatnam agency area recorded minimum temperatures in the small hours of Saturday.  Lambasingi recorded 4 degrees and Chintapalli recorded 7 degrees Celsius. Tussle Between Police and Lawyers November 27, 2013 15:18

ODI between India and West Indies on 24th November 21, 2013 14:44

Cricket Match is going to take place at Visakhapatnam on 24th between India and West Indies. The tickets for the match are being sold at 20 Meeseva (e seva) centers in Hyderabad. Cricket lovers are queuing up at the centers vending the tickets. A total of 12000 tickets are kept for sale. Police security is arranged at the centers where sale of tickets for the match are being sold. So far two IPL and four ODI matches are played at Andhra Cricket Association- Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association Cricket Stadium with a capacity of 36000 viewers situated at Potulamallyyapalem situated in suburbs of Visakhapatnam which was inaugurated in 2003. This will be another one day international match at the stadium that will be played between India and West Indies. A Rally headed by Dalit Shree Shakti Convener Jhansi Geddam with 100 Dalit woman leaders on a mission to bring awareness on the Government's SC ST Subplan started Rath Yatra on Monday starting from the Ambedkar Statue at LIC Building. The Yatra will be done for 10 days covering 2400 villages in 47 mandals in the Districts of Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Rangareddy and Hyderabad.  The main aim of the Yatra is to bring total awareness on the act and to help Dalit women to improve the quality of their life. Former Mayor D.V.Subba Rao who flagged off the mission said that mere passing an Act will not serve that purpose if it is not in the awareness of the beneficiaries. Bar Association Demands High Court Bench at Vizag November 06, 2013 13:55

A letter was sent to the GoM by the Visakhapatnam Bar Association who demanded establishment of High Court at Visakhpatnam whether bifurcation happens or not. The contention of the Bar Association is that the Seemandhra lawyers practicing in the High Court are facing problems at Hyderabad due to the hostility of Telangana lawyers. It is also mentioned in their letter to GoM signed by the President of the Visakhapatnam Bar Association Badrinath that the demand for a High Court Bench is as old as 1955 as Hyderabad is far away for the East Godavari and Coastal Andhra. GoM was requested to recommend it to the Government and competent authority on establishing High Court Bench preferably at Visakhapatnam if the bifurcation is inevitable.  They also mentioned in the letter that the High Court Bench can be established at Vijayawada or Guntur and Tirupati.   -SriJa
