Chiru to campaign in Tamil Nadu

Chiru_14feb11Mega Star and PRP Chief Mr Chiranjeevi said today he would take up election campaign on behalf of the congress party in the forthcoming assembly elections in the Tamil Nadu.

Addressing journalists in Delhi after having discussions with in-charge of congress affairs in AP and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmad Patel, political secretary of the congress party president Sonia Gandhi, the PRP founder-turned congress leader said that he was ready to take up campaign for the party in Tamil Nadu.

“Almost all people in Tamil Nadu know me and recognize me. Congress may ask me to take up campaigning in the Telugu-speaking areas, he said. Making it clear that he has not discussed the issue of PRP MLAs joining the congress ministry in the state, the mega star said that his party’s merger with the congress would be formalized with a huge public meeting shortly which will also be attended by Sonia Gandhi.

Talking about the cross voting indulged in by the MLAs of some parties, he said that the PRP
MLAs stood by the whip of the party leadership and they did not indulge in the cross voting.
