TDP Not Contesting In Telangana Lok Sabha Polls:- The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) which was once a powerful regional party in Telangana vanished in this period of five years after the bifurcation of AP. With all the top and prominent leaders defecting into Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS), the party lost hold and reached rock bottom. With no candidates to contest, TDP will not contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state. Though TDP inked an alliance with Congress during the Assembly polls, the bad results made them stay away from alliance this time.

Former MP and senior TDP leader Nama Nageswara Rao too joined TRS and this turned out to be a major shock for TDP. The party will not contest in the polls and Monday would be the last day to file the nomination. Not a single nomination got filed till date which is clear that the party would stay away from Lok Sabha polls. Out of the 2 TDP MLAs, one of them moved to TRS and the ruling party now has a power of 100 out of 119 MLAs in the house.
