Big Move: Nirav Modi's Bail Plea Rejected:- Businessman Nirav Modi went absconding from the country during January 2018 after he committed a financial fraud of over Rs 14,000 crores with Punjab National Bank. He was finally spotted in London after which the Enforcement Directorate along with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a petition with Westminster Court to arrest Nirav Modi. Soon arrest warrant has been issued and Nirav Modi was nabbed and produced in the court yesterday. Though it was planned to take longer, the Westminster Court denied the bail plea of Nirav Modi. District Judge Marie Mallon denied bail to Nirav Modi and remanded him in custody till March 29th.

This is a big move for India who is working hard to extradite him to the country. Marie Mallon said that they believe that Nirav Modi would fail to surrender if he is granted bail for sure and hence his bail plea is rejected without second thought. Nirav Modi was spotted in plain white shirt and trousers during his presence and he just spoke few words in the dock. He spoke to confirm his name and declined when asked about extradited to India. Nirav Modi was present in a Metro Bank branch where he was arrested. He was there to open a new bank account.
