Abhinandan Varthaman Swallowed Papers Before He Was Caught:- Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman swallowed some important documents and dumped other papers along with his survival kit in a pond before he was captured by the Pakistan army. Abhinandan Varthaman also discharged his pistol into the air to scare the mob of civilians. Pakistan army recovered mud-soaked documents from the pond later and found a pink-colored book on 'Survival on Land' along with a map. Three Pakistani civilians Mohammad Razzaq Chaudhry, Shoaib and Razza spotted him in Horran village which is located 7 km from the Line of Control.

The incident took place in Bhimber district and the Pakistan Army has been informed about Abhinandan Varthaman. One of the civilians named Mohammad Razzaq saw an Indian aircraft crash down near his residence. He soon noticed the pilot landing sage in a parachute and then reached the location. The civilians initially assaulted Abhinandan Varthaman after he asked if he landed in Pakistan. He soon swallowed some crucial documents and jumped into the pond. Soon Pakistan Army rushed and took Abhinandan Varthaman into custody. Abhinandan Varthaman was taken to Bhimber military headquarters which is located 58 kms from the Horran.
