Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Takes Oath As Telangana Speaker:- Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) ended up winning the Assembly polls and K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) took oath as the Chief Minister of the state for the second time in a row. The cabinet expansion has been rumored to take place post Sankranthi during next week. KCR announced that Mumtaz Ahmed Khan will take charge as the Assembly speaker. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan is a six time MLA from All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). He took oath as Speaker yesterday in Durbar Hall in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR attended the event along with AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi. All the MLAs from TRS and AIMIM too attended the grand oath taking ceremony of Mumtaz Ahmed Khan. He was congratulated by the Chief Minister, Governor and MLAs of the state. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan will chair the Assembly sessions that will take place today in Hyderabad. All the 119 elected MLAs of Telangana will take their oath today in the state's Assembly.
