We Will Have Clarity On Early Polls In Telangana Soon, Says KTR:- Addressing speculation of early elections to the Telangana Legislative Assembly, state IT (Information Technology) Minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday said that there would be clarity on the issue shortly.

Stating that the ruling-Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was ready for polls at any time, he asked opposition parties why they were afraid of the elections being brought forward.

When asked about the speculation, KTR said, "When that decision comes, you ask us and we will answer questions on it. Either way, why is the opposition so scared of early polls? Are they scared to approach the people?"

"People are ready to vote for us, no matter what. They are coming out in huge numbers. We have no need to offer money like some have alleged. No matter when the polls are held, people are ready to make us win 100 percent of the seats. We have won in every bye-poll and minor election since we came to power in the state," KTR told reporters.

He as well lashed out at the opposition for their comments and said that the people itself will respond to them.

"The Congress' bosses are in Delhi. Our bosses are here. This meeting is being held to express gratitude to the people who voted us into power and gave us the mandate and the government for this term. We are answerable only to them," he added.

KTR was speaking to reporters after looking at the arrangements made for a massive public meeting, Pragathi Nivedana Sabha, organized by the TRS on September 2.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Sunday, along with TRS Members of Parliament (MPs) B. Vinod Kumar and Sri Boora Narsaiah Goud.

Thanking Rajnath Singh for taking steps for approval of the newly formed Zonal system in Telangana, the Chief Minister also discussed other issues related to the state.

"The CM also met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and submitted three letters. CM requested for the release of Rs. 450 crore towards the fourth installment of Special Assistance for the development of backward districts in Telangana state under the AP Reorganization Act, 2014 under the Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF). He also requested raising the annual borrowing limit for the state by an additional 0.50 percent of GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) as recommended by the 14th Finance Commission and to release interest subvention from Government of India towards the SHG Bank (Self Help Group-Bank) linkage programme," a statement from the Chief Minister's Office said.

On Saturday, KCR met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The meeting came two days after Telangana government's Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma met Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa.

KCR, as the TRS chief is popularly known, had dropped hints that the Assembly elections may be held early. The state elections are originally scheduled along with the Lok Sabha polls next year.
