Tamil Nadu bids tearful farewell for Karunanidhi: DMK Chief M Karunanidhi is one of the most senior politicians of the country. After battling for life, he breathed his last at 6.10 PM on Tuesday which left the whole nation in deep shock. Condolence messages poured from all the corners of the country. His mortal remains have been placed in Rajaji Hall, Chennai for the followers, fans and people to pay their last visit. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, AP and Telangana Chief Ministers Chandra Babu Naidu, KCR along with nation's crucial leaders will make it to pay their last visit of Kalaignar.
The Tamil Nadu Government refused the burial of Karunanidhi at the Marina beach despite of the special request from DMK Leaders. Karunanidhi's family members MK Stalin and Kanimozhi along with others met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister who rejected the proposal as a PIL has been filed recently against the burials across the beach. DMK Leaders have been left dissatisfied on the issue after which Karunanidhi's family members moved to Madras High Court. An update is expected today.
