Meal For Rs 5 At Anna Canteens: Govt Spends Rs 55 On A Person:- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu launched 'Anna Canteens' across the state yesterday. The first phase witnessed 60 canteens and they are expected to be doubled by the end of this year. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is running these canteens and breakfast, lunch, dinner are offered at Rs 5. All the Ministers, inaugurated the Anna Canteens in their respective constituencies in the state.

AP Government is spending Rs 55 per person for three meals a day said a source. The canteens have been built with the funds drawn from the Municipal Administration. Chandra Babu revealed that no poor person should sleep with empty stomach and as promised during 2014 elections, Anna Canteens have been launched. They will soon turn a benchmark for the state revealed Babu. At the canteens, three vegetarian meals priced at ₹5 each include idly/dosa /poori with sambar and chutney for breakfast, and a cup of rice, veg curry, dal, pickle, sambar and curd for lunch and dinner.
