Punjab CM Announces Rs 209 Cr Debt Relief For Farmers:- Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh announced a disbursement of Rs 209 crores for over 38000 marginal farmers across the state who are said to be the members of cooperative societies. The amount will be paid in the next ten days to complete the first phase of the debt relief scheme. Amarinder Singh informed that 2,77,633 farmers have been provided the relief till date with Rs 1525.61 crores in phase one. The amount has been transferred to their accounts informed the Chief Minister. Amarinder Singh revealed that they kept their pre-poll promise.

Out of 3.43 lakh farmers, 27,179 have been found ineligible said Amarinder Singh as they have been serving government or other mediums. If any farmer has been left, they can contact the sub divisional magistrate to resolve the issue. Amarinder Singh kept a close watch and he directed the finance and agriculture departments to follow up with the banks. Amarinder Singh reminded that Congress made the promise before 2017 elections and they have been trying their best to fulfill their promises.
