Telangana To Lose CCMB Unit For Andhra Pradesh:- The gene research centre of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) which has been planned to be set up in Telangana will now move out to Andhra Pradesh if the Telangana government fails to complete the formalities of land allotment. Amdist huge competition, Telangana is the front runner for CCMB. States like Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Karnataka have been in talks with the Centr to set up the gene research centre. CCMB has been delayed from the past eight years and the Centre is keen on setting it up soon.

The Centre is now in thoughts to set up CCMB in Andhra Pradesh as Telangana government could not hand over any land in Bhongir as promised. The project is estimated to be Rs 1200 crores and Telangana government promised allotting 144 acres of land for the prestigious project. A stay order has been issued after a realtor filed a petition in AP High Court regarding the allotment of land. With all these confusions, the Centre is finally in plans to shift the project to AP.
