Arrest Warrant Issued Against Nawaz Sharif In Panama Papers Case

Arrest Warrant Issued Against Nawaz Sharif In Panama Papers Case:- A bailable warrant has been issued by the Accountability Court of Pakistan, against former Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif. The case relates to two corruption references, claimed the reports. Sharif in this regard will be required to appear before the court on November 3, stated the court.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) indicted Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Sharif and son-in-law Captain Safdar, on October 19, in Avenfield properties case. The bureau was appealed by the Sharif family, to stop the indictment proceedings. Nawaz Sharif, through his counsel, also pleaded “not guilty” before the court.

Regarding their off-shore holdings, Sharif and his family have been facing four corruption and money laundering cases. The Avenfield, Hill Metal Company, Azizia Steel Mills, Flagship Investments, Que Holdings, Hartstone properties, Quint Eaton Place 2, Quaint, Quint Saloane, Flagship Securities, Quint Paddington, Quint Gloucester Place, Flagship Developments, Lankin SA (BVI), Chadron, Alanna Services (BVI), Ansbacher, Coomber and Capital FZE, Dubai in the accountability court in Islamabad are a few of them.

Three cases of corruption and money laundering have been registered by the NAB against Sharif, his family members and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, following the Supreme Court’s disqualification of Sharif as prime minister in the Panama Papers scandal. Sharif was disqualified on July 28.

Sharif is currently in London with his wife Kulsoom, as she is undergoing treatment for cancer there.
