Metro Man Sreedharan Quits:- E Sreedharan who is popularly called Metro Man of the country has submitted his resignation to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on July 1st. The 85-year old man has been into many prestigious projects of the country and he worked as the Principal Advisor of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). E Sreedharan himself confirmed the news during his interaction with a leading daily. E Sreedharan revealed that he is old enough and is tough to travel frequently to Andhra Pradesh at this age. He even revealed about the work pressure in the new capital.

E Sreedharan has been requested by Chandra Babu Naidu in 2015 and he was asked to look into the Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam metro projects. There are strong talks that it is due to the differences with Chandra Babu Naidu, E Sreedharan parted ways. The old man is said to have spent months on the study of the viability of the metro project. However it has been cancelled and a Light Rail Technology (LRT) has been planned which did not go with E Sreedharan.

There are even talks that Chandra Babu Naidu denied appointment for a month which left him in deep shock. In the presence of Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, E Sreedharan submitted a detail about the metro project in to AP Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. The metro project in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam was estimated to cost Rs 12,727 crore while the one in Vijayawada would cost Rs 6,769 crore. The metro projects have been promised to be completed by the end of 2018 however the government is still in the phase of considering the proposals.

Major delays along with the Union ministry refusing to approve the Vijayawada metro rail project did not go well with E Sreedharan after which he called it a quit.
