Dinakaran’s Strong Comments In FERA Case

Dinakaran’s Strong Comments In FERA Case:- The ousted AIADMK leader, TTV Dinakaran, made some strong comments, after appearing before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chennai in the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) case, on Tuesday.

Dinakaran said, “I have a strong belief in law. I believe I will get justice and will be proven innocent.”

The Supreme Court on July 21, dismissed Dinakaran’s petition, seeking relief and challenging the Madras High Court order against him in the same case. The Madras High Court, in its previous hearing, providing temporary relief to Dinakaran, issued stay orders to the Chennai Metropolitan Magistrate court on the case against him. However, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was directed by Justice M S Ramesh, to file a counter in two weeks.

To relieve him from the FERA violation case, Dinakaran had filed a petition in the high court three months back. Moreover, he is facing two cases filed by the ED against him for alleged violations of FERA. The first case pertains to illegally routing US dollars in foreign exchange without taking permission from the Reserve Bank of India, and for depositing in the current account of Dipper Investments Ltd., a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, with Barclays Bank, Sutton, United Kingdom, the court had framed charges against him charged.

The second case pertains to the transfer of 44.37 lakh pounds through West Bank Ltd, Ireland, allegedly breaching FERA provisions.
