Senior TDP Leader Devineni Nehru Passes Away

MLA and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Leader, Devineni Nani, breathed his last, early this morning.

Nehru, who died of cardiac arrest, was being treated at Care Hospitals, Hyderabad. He is accompanied by his son and daughter. The TDP later, was even suffering from kidney related ailments, says reports.

Devineni Rajasekhar, also called as Nehru, is one of the senior most politicians in Krishna District. During his 35 year political career, he got elected to Kankipadu constituency five times (1983, 1958, 1989, 1994 and 2004) and one time to Vijayawada East constituency. Nehru made his entry into politics, during late N.T. Rama Rao time, and also worked as a Minister in NTR’s cabinet. Later after the coupe in TDP, he joined Congress and remained in the party until recently. In August last year, he joined back TDP mending differences with AP CM, Chandrababu Naidu. He along with his son again, recently joined TDP after the Congress suffered major defeat in 2014 election.

The TDP leader played a key role in Congress as well as TDP during his political stint in the district. On hearing the tragic incident, followers and relatives of Nehru rushed to Hyderabad. The body will be shifted to Vijayawada to perform final rights.
