Miscreants Threw Stones on Panneerselvam Convoy

Some unidentified persons threw stones on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam's vehicle. The incident took place when OPS was travelling to Arapadithevanpatti village near Theni on Friday afternoon.

After he arrived, the supporters of Panneerselvam welcomed him at the Sastha temple near Andipatti Kanavai. They followed his convoy to his hometown Periyakulam. When the convoy reached Arapadithevanpatti village, a group of persons standing near the roadside, threw stones on his vehicle. However, Panneerselvam did not get any injury as the stones fell on the vehicle bumper.

The incident has prompted outrage among his supporters who were waiting for 200 metres away to receive him. Panneerselvam calmed them and then left to his house in Periyakulam. A senior police official rubbished the reports of stone pelting.

Hundreds of supporters had gathered in various places on the route where OPS was travelling in order to welcome him. Panneerselvam took rest for a few hours in his residence and then left with his followers to his constituency in Bodinayakanur in the evening.

After he reached, he stood in an open vehicle to wish his supporters who were gathered in various places in the town. In the morning, OPS along with his wife and sister visited his family deity (Pachiamman temple) and Andal temple at Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar.
