Roorkee: Ward Boy Breaks Infant’s Leg As he gets Annoyed with his Crying

In a shocking incident, a ward boy working in a private hospital broke a 3-day-old infant's leg as he got annoyed with the baby crying.

According to a complaint lodged by infant's father, the infant was born on January 25. The parents admitted their child in a private children's hospital in Roorkee due to some respiratory problems.

It said, "the ward boy was so irritated by the incessant crying of the child that in the early hours of January 28 he broke one of the baby's legs when he was alone in the ward to keep guard."

But no one got to know about the ward boy's act. It only came to light only after the child was referred to another hospital in Dehradun, where the doctors stated that the infant's leg had a fracture. After Roorkee hospital checked CCTV footage, they found the video in which the ward boy is seen breaking the infant's leg.

The baby's father said, "a complaint had been lodged with the police which has assured it will take action."

When contacted Haridwar SSP KV Krishnakumar said: "an inquiry is being held into the incident."
