Versatile Actor, Editor & Political Analyst Cho Ramaswamy is No More!

Cho Ramaswamy who is a versatile actor, an editor and a political analyst passed away at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Wednesday. He was 82 and died due to an illness.
 
Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy is popularly known as Cho Ramaswamy in Tamil cinema. He passed away at 3.58 AM on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest.

"He was undergoing treatment for a prolonged time at Apollo Hospitals in Greams Road", said the report.

Cho Ramaswamy was very close to Late Jayalalithaa. He was her mentor during her film career. After Jayalalitha entered politics, he still continued to support her.

He is also the founder of Thuglak magazine. His body was shifted to his residence at MRC Nagar where his friends, family and public will pay their last respects.

Cho used to always wear a hat which had many feathers like an actor, comedian, character actor, editor, playwright and dialogue writer, film director and lawyer. He was known for his unbiased views on political issues.

"He uses to live with his wife, son, and daughter. He has acted in 89 movies along with famous actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan. He also acted in 15 plays and directed 5 movies.  He also wrote the screenplay for another 5", said the report.

He was also associated in religious and charitable work.

He also applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his constant work towards the development of India. He made his first acting debut in 1963 with 'Paar Magale Paar' as a comedian. He was also nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India, K. R. Narayanan. He was a Rajya Sabha MP from November 1999 to November 2005.

As he was the mentor of Jayalalithaa, he worked with her in 19 films. In fact, he and MGR were behind the growth of Jayalalithaa's political career.
