The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief J Jayalalithaa, who was hospitalized earlier, is healthy, says the party members, even though the 68-year-old doctor flown from UK to examine her.

Senior AIADMK leader and former minster P Valaramthi while speaking with the reporters said, “Amma (Jayalalithaa) is healthy. She needs rest as per doctors' advice and will return in good health.”

She further added that although Jaya is hospitalized, she is busy and performing official duties. She even announced the party’s candidates for this month’s civic polls, while being hospitalized.

Speaking more on Jayalalithaa’s health, she said, “Some jealous people are carrying out a wrong campaign to confuse people by spreading rumors.”

Reports said that the Apollo Hospital, where Amma is being hospitalized for treatment for fever and dehydration, called the UK-based Dr. Richard John Beal to examine the chief minister.

Jayalalithaa was hospitalized on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration. After initial examination she was advised to stay at the hospital for few days.
