TS Bus Stands Soon to Get Mini Theatres

Following its neighboring state Andhra Pradesh, Telangana is all set to get stormed by mini theatres at all the busy TSRTC bus stations in Telangana to entertain the waiting passengers.

In a mission to generate more revenues from the bus stations, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had suggested the TSRTC to establish mini theatres and commercial complexes in several bus stations across the state.

The officials said, "passengers, particularly the long distance travelers, have to wait for long hours in the stations due to delay in the bus arrivals and departures. During their waiting in the bus stations, they would find the mini theatres ideal to while away their boredom. The film fraternity is already keen to invest in setting up the mini theatres. The Telangana Producers and Mini Theatre Owners' Co-operative Society has also submitted a representation to the management seeking space in some bus stations for setting up of mini theatres."

An official at TSRTC said that "there is a big scope for setting up of mini theaters in bus stations like Kushaiguda and Kukatpally etc in Hyderabad. The modalities to maintain the theatres, ticketing charges, revenue sharing etc will be finalized soon. Tenders would be notified after Dasara festival to set up mini theatres in 90 bus stations owned by TSRTC. "
