Telangana government made some crucial agreements with the Maharashtra government regarding the construction of barrages on Godavari river. However the Telangana congress leaders called it as a black day in the history of Telangana. The party called their cadre to protest across the state to organize a detailed demonstration at the district collectorates of all the Telangana districts. They also stepped down for dharna in front of the Ranga Reddy District Collectorate.
The Telangana Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to the district collector informing about the disadvantages of the agreements. They alleged that CM KCR has been trying to betray the people of the state by changing the maps and the plans of the irrigation projects. Congress demanded an explaination from the Telangana government for changing the designs and plans.
