Telangana Chief Minister KCR has been undefeated after the formation of the separate state Telangana but the leader has been facing lot of heat from the people from his own district because of the Mallanna Sagar project which has been opposed by a section of people from 14 villages of Medak district. Massive protests from the villagers supported by opposition Congress party made KCR land in confusion.

Mallanna Sagar project has an estimated budget of Rs 9800 crores and around 30,000 people from 14 villages of Medak are now on the streets opposing the decision of their Chief Minister. The government estimated that 12 lakh acres of irrigation land spread across the districts of Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Medak and Warangal will be irrigated and the project could hold 51,000 million cubic feet of water.
