Pakistani terrorist caught alive by Indian Army

Four militants were killed and another apprehended by security forces during an encounter in Naugam sector near the LoC in Kupwara district of Kashmir, an Army official said. He said all the militants were foreign nationals. Amid Pakistan sponsored terrorist activities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir on the rise, the security forces had a major success when they caught a Pakistani terrorist alive.

The arrest of a Pakistani terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupawara district is a "big success" for the security forces, as it exposes the game plan of Pakistan, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said.

"Catching a terrorist alive is a big success as it brings in open the game plan of Pakistan. The arrest of a terrorist in Kupwara is a big achievement of security forces," he told reporters in New Delhi.

Minister of State (MoS), Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir confirmed that, "The terrorist caught alive in Kupwara is a Pakistani."

“The Army had launched search operation to flush out suspected militants. After two days, contact was established and during the ensuing gunfight four militants were killed while one militant was apprehended,” Srinagar based Defence spokesperson said.

“The militant group was intercepted close to Anti-Insurgency Obstacle System (AIOS) after the Army noticed a suspicious movement. As the militants were challenged, they opened fired triggering a gun battle. The Army maintained a tight cordon around the forest area for the whole night to ensure that the militants don’t manage to escape from the area,” he said.

Terming the arrest of a terrorist alive as a “big catch”, the official said once the arrested terrorist is subjected to intense grilling, many vital information about the design of the terror groups operating from across the border is likely to unravel.
