Prime Minister Narendra Modi Reaches Switzerland: Black Money, NSG in Agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who started his 5 nation tour on 4 June, arrived in Switzerland today after visiting Qatar And Afghanistan. He will be holding talks with Swiss President Johann Schneider-Ammann on bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Before leaving Qater the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted “My gratitude to the people and Government of Qatar for their exceptional warmth & hospitality during this visit: PM @narendramodi.”

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted "Bon Soir Geneve! A late night arrival in the picturesque Swiss city marks beginning of third leg of PM's journey." Modi will also be holding talks on black money and NSG membership.

He said"I will hold talks with President Schneider-Ammann to deepen our bilateral and multilateral cooperation. In Geneva, I will meet prominent businesspersons. Our agenda will be to expand economic and investment ties. I will meet Indian scientists working at CERN. India takes pride in their contribution to exploring new frontiers of science in the service of humanity."

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar said “ India has already been in touch with the Swiss government under the double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA) mandate and added that India hoped to engage as early as possible in the automatic exchange of information with Switzerland".

From Switzerland, Modi will be traveling to the US and then to Mexico before returning to India.
