Cricket coach booked for sexually abusing boys

A cricket coach in Hyderabad has been booked for allegedly sexually abusing five teenage boys who were taking coaching from him, police said.

According to the inspector N Tirupati Rao, the cricket coach named Salam, used to take the five students (aged between 12 to 16), in the coach room and allegedly tried to have unnatural sex with them. The issue came out after one of the boys in the group, complained against the coach with Chandanagar police.

The police then were active and registered case under IPC sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 511 and several other relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Tirupati Rao said.

Coach is currently facing the interrogation, and more details about the case, are expected to be known from it.

He said they are inquiring it from other side, that whether the coach earlier performed these acts with other students and the damage he did to them, if any.
