Egypt’s civil aviation authority has just officially declared that, an Egypt air plane has been hijacked, while flying from the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria to the capital, Cairo.

Speaking on the issue, a Cypriot government official said that, today morning, the plane got landed at the airport in Larnaka in Cyprus and that there are suspicions of a bomb on board.  

Another Cypriot official said, “seems like there’s more than one hijacker.”

Other than the demand to move away the police vehicles from the aircraft, there were no other big demands from the hijackers, he said.

Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity under regulations.

Egyptian aviation authority’s statement further revealed that the MS181 is an Airbus and that it has about 80 passengers on board.
