After the girlfriend threatened a 32 year old HDFC manager, to inform his wife, about his affair, the man killed his girlfriend by repeatedly smashing her head against a footpath.

According to the police, Punya Sagar, a 28 year old lady, working as an executive with HDFC Life Insurance did not know earlier that her boss, Naveen Kumar, was married and also a father.

After knowing, Sagar threatened to showup at his house and reveal his wife, about his affair. The threatened Kumar, took the lady on drive on March 3rd, on the pretext of “settling” the issue, and beaten her severely.

Not stopping there, with the intention of diverting the case, he even took Sagar to hospital and informed doctors that she had met with an accident. After admitting in the ICU, she slipped into a coma and later succumbed to her injuries.

As a shocker to Kumar, Siddharth Sharma and Surender Rana, two passers, witnessed the incident and called the police. Naveen Kumar was arrested on Monday, four days after the incident in outer Delhi’s Mongolpuri area.

“We received a PCR call about a quarrel near Y block, Mangolpuri but when we reached the spot, the couple had left. We contacted the caller, who told us that he and his friend were coming home from Patel Nagar when they saw an i10 parked along the footpath. They saw a man hold a woman by her neck and repeatedly smash her head against the pavement,“ DCP, outer, Vikramjeet Singh said.

“He said the man put the woman in the car and sped away. The caller and his friend followed the car to Jaipur Golden Hospital, where they saw the man take the woman inside. Following this , a case was registered and an investigation launched. Navin Kumar was arrested and questioned.”

The eyewitnesses will be rewarded, the police added.
