NIA arrests Bengaluru Church gate blast suspect Rafiq

National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials caught terrorist Rafiq, who performed several bomb attacks in the country.

Rafiq played a key role in several bomb attacks like - Bengaluru Church gate blast, Chennai Gauhati Express blast, Ahmedabad blast and few other deadly attacks in the country.   

He is currently involved in planning a deadly attack, targeting Israels. Regarding this, he even placed bombs at Israel Visa Centre.   

Along with Indian Mujahiddeen (IM), Rafiq was working in Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). He is even the head of another organization called Khalifa-Ae-Il. He reportedly planned several blasts on the Republic day. NIA officials found huge blasting material from Rafiq.  



Three days back, Telangana police along with NIA officials, performed a joint operation to catch hold of Rafiq. Though state police tried to catch hold of the terrorist first, the latter was given a knife by his wife and he then attacked the Telangana police.

In this process, he along with his wife, tried to run away from the place, but it was then, the NIA officials caught hold of Rafiq.

After taking the terrorist into custody, the officials started investigating. Through the investigation, the officials found out that, Rafiq is even responsible for the six back to back blasts in Ahmedabad, along with other blasts in Pune and other parts of the country.

However the officials are relieved out of tension after catching Rafiq and more details are expected to be out through the further investigation.
