Pathankot attack: Former IAF official helped terrorists?

The officials are now considering the possibility of an air force, who was recently arrested, might have helped the terrorists, for attacking Pathankot air force station.

It was known that, on December 28th, an air force official, named Ranjith KK, who was honey trapped by the ISI, was arrested from Bathinda by Delhi police.

As per the sources, the officials even inquired Pathankot Military Engineering Services (MES) lineman, to find out whether Ranjith is in touch with him.

In order to establish the role of guides, who may have helped the terrorists strike the air force base, the agencies are even scanning the phone calls, made by Ranjith and the lineman.

Currently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials have seized lineman's SIM card in his phone.

During the last week, three flood lights of the area used by the terrorists to scale the station's boundary wall were found turned upward. Even a few of the floodlights were not functioning. All this is believed to have been done to facilitate the terrorists scale the wall which was thrown into darkness when the terrorists struck the air base. The MES official was taken into custody and questioned about the same.

The arrested lineman was responsible for maintaining the lights which make the 11-foot wall visible throughout the night. Along with the lineman, the NIA officials even questioned another air base official in connection with the flood light mischief.

Lineman and Ranjit are alleged to exchange phone calls before the horrifying attack in Pathankot. The same is expected to confirm, after scanning the phone records of both.

NIA officials are even questioning another Air Force employee-turned-spy, Sunil Kumar, who was arrested on spying charges on August 30, 2014.

Sunil Kumar was accused of selling strategic information about the Air Force Station to a woman who is believed to be a Pakistan spy.

Sunil Kumar was seduced by the Pakistan spy and turned as the victim of his carnal desires and greed for money. The Pakistan woman spy had introduced herself as Meena Raina via a social media website. Introducing herself as a researcher, conducting the researches in accident cases, the woman said that she lives in Sweden. The duo friendship developed further, contacting through phones and website.

In this process, the woman said that, she is doing a research on Air Force Station and asked him to supply the information. Sunil agreed to do so, after the woman said that she is ready to give money. However, the court had granted bail to Sunil, after the police failed to put up the challan.
