It seems, Congress party is not in a position to take a chance with Danam Nagendar and trying to replace Mukhesh Goud in place of Danam.
The level of hide and seek Danam played in quitting or retaining in Congress, might not have played by any other politician in the recent times.
Many times, it was almost confirmed that he is going to quit Congress and join TRS. But strategically, Telangana Chief Minister KCR gave an indirect jolt to him, saying that, he would not welcome him into the party and asked to come, with KK’s welcome, if he wish.
That was severely taken by Danam and said that, he would only join TRS, with KCR’s welcome. But upon the silence of KCR, Danam had tried to retain in the Congress itself.
This irritated Shabbir Ali and few other Congress leaders, and started avoiding Danam Nagendar in the party.
As GHMC elections are upcoming, the party seniors are keen on contesting in it. Already, a number of seniors, quitting the party, is worrying the existing seniors and so they are not in a position to believe Danam, who proved that, he is a hide and seek master.
It is because of this, Congress seniors reportedly consulted ex-Congress leader Mukesh Goud, to offer him key responsibilities in the city.
Reportedly, even Mukesh Goud accepted the invitation from the Congress seniors. But will Mukesh hold the responsibilities of the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) or PCC, is yet to be known from AICC.
Mukesh Goud earlier won as a minister from Congress and performed his responsibilities in 2004-2009 period. But he lost in 2014 elections in the hands of BJP candidate Raja Singh. After that, much was not heard about Mukesh Goud and meanwhile, Danam’s popularity has increased in those days and that further dipped Goud and so completely stayed away from the politics.
But finally, the Congress leaders had now consulted Goud and a proposal of Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud as the Mayor candidate, is also made.
If Mukesh is given GHCC responsibilities, Danam would be considered for AICC or PCC. But it should be seen, whether Danam will accept these strategies of seniors or quit the party, getting irritated.
