2 Lakh crore special package for AP?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to announce Rs. 2 lakh crore special package to Andhra Pradesh in January.

In Modi’s recent visit to AP for the Amaravati stone ceremony, many felt that he would announce any special package. But Modi disappointed the public, maintain mum on the issue.

But as per the close sources, it is now known that, as Bihar elections are upcoming, to avoid unnecessary criticisms, from the oppositions, Modi is staying away from announcing any special package to the AP state.

But in January, Modi is going to visit Vizag for inaugurating the expansion work of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. It is then, Modi would announce Rs. 2 lakh crore special package to the state, as Bihar elections heat would anyway be reduced by then. Along with the special package, the Centre would also announce a railway zone to Vizag.

During the election campaign, it was known that, the Centre announced Rs. 1.25 lakh crore to Bihar state. Meanwhile, the Centre is keen on strengthening the party’s image in both the Telugu states. So Modi is in a thought of announcing the special package soon.

Special package just before elections?

On the other side, the oppositions or even the state government is more concerned about the special status than special package. When Modi announces special package in January, he is even supposed to make any positive statement about the special status.

Otherwise, the oppositions would use it as another loophole and protest against the state and the central governments. But Centre seems not compromising on the issue of the special status, in the near future.

The buzz is that, Centre is likely give a positive hope on the special status, during the elections, as it would benefit NDA, to form the government again, in the country.

So it should be seen, how violent the situations turn, till the elections time, for the special status.
