Police suspect woman, in her rape case

A woman in Hyderabad files a case, stating that she is kidnapped and raped by a group of unknown men, but the police suspect contradiction in her statement.

Kamathipura police came across a complaint given by a 33 year old woman, who is a resident of Asifnagar and had five children, is alleging that, she was raped by a group of men.

The woman said, “I went near Punjagutta central mall to do my cloth business on Sunday. But a few men suddenly came in a car and pulled me into it and took me to a building in Kamathipura, which looked like an office. In that building, they raped me and later escaped from the place at 1 am. It was then, I called my husband and with his support, I approached the police station in Kamathpura and filed the case.”  

On the other side, the police say that, they observed some contradiction in her statement, as few points she said earlier differed from what she said later.

However, as of now, police filed rape and kidnap case and are investigating it. They are expecting that some key information from the CCTV footage around the Punjagutta Central mall, where the woman was kidnapped.

Adding to this, the woman was sent to the hospital for the medical examination and the doctors declared that, there are no injuries on her body. It was then, the police suspicions on the woman, increased.

Authors view

In the past, there are situations, where the women filed wrong rape cases. The reason behind this, might be because of the personal grudge on few men or playing pranks with the police.

If situations like these takes place, there might come a situation, where the police do not believe, even if there are true rape cases and thus it would result in further injustice to the women, who are already suffering from the many evils in the society.
