TS assembly: Oppositions suspended for demanding to waive farmer loans

Most of the opposition MLAs got suspended from the rest of the assembly sessions, after they demanded to waive all the farmer loans at one go.

Even though in the past, Telangana Chief Minister KCR said that, all the farmer loans and other issues will be dealt on a systematic procedure, the opposition MLAs in the assembly yesterday, continued to raise the slogans against the government and demanded to solve the farmer issues at a time and not in installments.

The speaker, who tried to console the opposition leaders, finally had to suspend almost all parties opposition MLAs like Congress, TDP, BJP, CPI, CPM and YSRCP, after they rushed to the podium, holding placards and shouting slogans, against the government.

Opposition MLAs like Errabelli Dayakar Rao, TDP MLA R. Krishnaiah were not suspended as the former was not in the house and the latter did not move from his seat. Though Jana Reddy did not suspend, he stayed away from the House in protest.

Waive the farmer loans at one go, not in installments- Oppositions

Within few minutes of commencing the meet, the opposition leaders raised about the farmer suicides in the state and opined that, such suicides can be controlled, if all the loans are waived at one instance and not in the installments.

As the issue started going viral, speaker Madhusudhanachary strictly said that, the farmer suicides issue was already discussed in the house for two days last week and rejected their demand. Meanwhile, KCR said that the government has already made a clear statement and would act only according to that.

Waive farmer loans or bandh on October 9th- Komati Reddy Venkata Reddy

On the other side, Congress Party senior leader Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy said, “There is no need for us to politicize the issue, as there are no elections nearby. During the elections, TRS leaders said that, they would waive all the farmer loans and now are cheating the farmers. It seems, the TRS government is treating farmers as beggars.”

Komati Reddy further warned that, if at all the government do not waive the farmer loans at one go, then the Congress party would call for a bandh on October 10th.

Meanwhile, the Congress leaders would visit the farmers in the various districts of Telangana. On October, leaders will visit Mahabubnagar farmers, Medak on October 7th, Karimnagar on October 8th, and Warangal on October 9th.

It would be better if the Telangana government take the necessary steps towards farmer suicides, as early as possible and even the oppositions should understand the possibility of waiving the loan on a one go.
