AP bandh today: Suicides increased for AP special status

The number of deaths is increasing day by day, for the special status to AP.

Even after Muni Koti’s tragic death for AP special status, there is no positive reaction at the centre, for the special status to AP. This is hurting the people more day by day and the number of suicides is thus increasing.

It is known that, a few days ago, Ramishetti Lakshmaiah, a 55 year old and also a physically challenged person, committed suicide in Nellore district. As of now, in the past two days, three people have left their breath for the special status issue.

Uday Bhanu, a 40 year old man and a kirana shop owner, hanged himself in his house in Gudivada, Krishna district, leaving a suicide note behind, which read: 'Get AP free. Dead or Alive'.

In another separate incident, Lokesh Rao (32), a contract lecturer in a private college died of heart attack in Guduru, Kurnool district. Lokesh Rao took part in the special status protest on Thursday, and got frustrated for the centre’s delay regarding its declaration.

AP bandh for special status

On the other hand, the opposition leaders are fighting for the special status. In fact, YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy called for a ‘bandh’ today in Andhra Pradesh. All the buses and other travel services are completely left in the depots itself. All the parties joined the bandh and are opining that, these types of situations continue, until the centre comes down.

However, the centre already declared that, it would give special package, instead of special status and the AP leaders seem silent on the issue. In fact this is strengthening Jagan’s strike more.
