Heavy Rains hit Mumbai Badly

Heavy rains badly affected the Mumbai City. Most of the financial capital is flooded due to the downpour which started last night. People caught in the traffic and all the Road, Rail, and Air Services got delayed.

Mumbai's civic body warned the people about the possibilities of high tide in the noon hours. Giant tides of about 15 feet are expected shortly and people are informed to avoid sea surrounding roads.

Schools run by the civic body have been shut down and university exams have been cancelled. Many private schools didn't declare a holiday but the government urged parents not to send their children.

The Bombay High Court has shut down for the day. People in lakhs are getting suffered with the monster flood.

Operations on the Harbour line have been suspended and services have also been stopped between the busy Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus or CST and the Kurla suburb on the Central line.

"Suburban services are affected due to heavy rains and water-logging in several areas in Mumbai Central and Matunga. It is advised to all that commuters may travel only in case of emergency," Western Railway said in a press release.

Massive traffic jams were reported across the city, especially in areas that are badly flooded including Dadar, Parel, Sion, Andheri, Jogeshwari and Santa Cruz.

On a whole the havoc disrupts the normal public life.

Opponents are blaming Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the pathetic infrastructure conditions in and around Mumbai. There is no proper city planning.
