Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education: 12th Results Declared for 2015

Maharashtra has recorded an overall pass percentage of 87.9% in the 12th class examinations held by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in March 2015. The percentage registered by the freshers is 91.26%.

Last year Maharashtra State's success rate was 84%, while Mumbai's registers 81.1% success rate.

Girls again proved that they can outperform the boys. With 93.8% girls surpassed boys, who achieved 87.18% in the examination.

In Mumbai alone, 93.03% freshers passed the examination from the vocational stream, while the arts stream, commerce stream, and the science stream holds 83.9% (freshers), 90.31% (freshers), and 93% students (freshers) respectively.

On an overall basis, a total of 13.4 lakh have appeared for the examination, statewide. Among those, 58,551 appeared for the vocational stream, 3.5 lakh from the commerce stream, 4.5 lakh from the arts stream, and 4.8 lakh have appeared for the science stream.

The Konkan Divisional Board tops the Maharashtra results for the fourth consecutive year with 95.68 % students from the region passing the examination. Aurangabad divisional board and Pune Divisional board scored 91.77% and 91.96% respectively. Of the nine regional boards, Nashik board scored the least with 88.13 % students clearing the examinations.

The Maharashtra Board conducts exams within the state through nine divisional boards at Ratnagiri, Amravati, Kolhapur, Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Latur, Mumbai, and Pune.

The examinations were conducted from February 21 to March 26, 2015.
