The tax defaulters are again caught hold by  the Tax department. The people who are avoiding to pay tax since long time are finally identified by the officials.

31 tax defaulters are identified by the Income tax department and the payable tax that is been pending from all the 31 people is 1500 crores. Among those 31, 3 people were identified as local people of Hyderabad and also 10 companies that are local. These 13 people payable tax amounted to 875.42 crores.

Coming to the other defaulters,  MDL technologies from Vishakhapatnam whose due is 11 crores. Among all the 31 defaulters, Totem Infra of Hyderabad, whose due is realized as 401.64 crores stood at first place. Further places were occupied by Pune company, “Patheja brothers forging and auto parts” whose due is 224.05 crores and Royal Fabrics, a Hyderabad company, whose due is 158.94 crores.

The IT department informed all the defaulters to pay the taxes immediately without fail. It further told that few of the defaulters addresses are still not known and some other properties are not sufficient for recovery.

In a span of just a month, the IT department released the list of the tax defaulters twice. All these defaulters were identified as omitting to pay the tax since years. All these years, the defaulters omitted the tax keeping in mind that anyway, no where the public will be aware of it. Basing this estimation of the defaulters, the IT department listed all the defaulters names and released into media so that they might feel ashamed of it and pay the taxes from now.
