A 17-year-old US national was allegedly raped on Monday morning at a guesthouse in Gurgaon. As per police, a 21-year old boy, who became close to the girl through a social networking website, raped the girl. Upon the complaint by the authorities of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), where the victim has been treated, Gurgaon police registered a case against accused on the charges of rape and POCSO Act. The search for him is on.
Police said his Facebook profile said he was an African national. They told that the victim was a school student. “She had been staying in the city for the last eight months with her mother, who works at a private company as a senior executive,” a police officer said.
“The victim recently met the man on a social networking site and they became friends. On three occasions, she went to Delhi with him,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Kumar said.
On Monday morning, the accused allegedly picked up the girl from her house at 9.30 am and took her to a guesthouse in Sector 38, Gurgaon, where he allegedly raped her, police said.
